A new start-up is using biotechnology to eradicate the phone and using a ring to transfer sound vibrations.

THIS ARTICLE STATES, IN PART:

"Origami Labs, a tech startup, has unveiled a smart ring that can do the job of your phone, i.e. it will let you talk through your finger. Called the ORII, it utilises ‘bone conduction’ to send sound waves through the bones of your finger to your ear. In short, it utilises your body as a medium to transfer sound vibrations to your ear."

It appears like the company’s supply constraints could result in your receiving a brand-new machine as a replacement for the aging notebook.

When it involves an older machine, issues with lack of supply of the required components can really cause problems. This case is especially pertaining to Apple’s 2012 and 2013 versions of MacBook Pros. However, Apple has an excellent customer-service solution to this problem. The Cupertino-based firm is apparently offering users with a brand new replacement for (2012 and 2013 editions) MacBook Pros, if their notebooks are experiencing irresolvable battery or any other component issue.

According to MacUser, Apple doesn’t have an integrated battery assembly for mid-2012 and early-2013 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro models. In other words, users who visit an Apple Store looking to get a battery replaced are out of luck. Apple ideally replaces a worn-out battery at no charge, provided that the users have an AppleCare+ extended warranty. However, as mentioned before, Apple doesn’t have enough to supplement all the user’s requirements. In order to make things right, the firm is offering to replace the current models with newer ones for free.

Maru OS exits private beta, lets you use an Android phone as a Linux desktop

Maru OS is a platform that lets you run both Google Android and Debian Linux on a smartphone. Use your device as a phone, and it’ll act like any other Android phone. Connect an external display, mouse, and keyboard and you’ve got a full-fledged Debian Linux desktop environment.

First unveiled in February, the project was in private beta for a while, which meant you needed to request an invite to download and install the custom firmware on a smartphone.

Now Maru OS version 0.2.3 is available to the public. As the name suggests, it’s still far from final software, but the lead developer of the project says it’s now stable enough for daily use… although for now only a single smartphone is supported — the Google Nexus 5.
